Science & Origin of Green Kyanite
Green Kyanite is one of the newest additions to our personal mineral kingdom! This variety of kyanite has been one of the hardest to find a steady supply of. After manifesting and searching far and wide, we finally learned of a newly discovered vein that was recently found in India. One of our most trusted suppliers was also on the hunt for this crystal and immediately began importing a small amount of Green Kyanite that the mine would release for global consumption. Thankfully for us, we were able to get a small amount shipped right before the Covid-19 global pandemic broke out. Since then, the entire world’s stock of crystals has diminished significantly, especially the rare and harder to come by stones such as Green Kyanite. We highly value the small amount of stock that we have and truly believe the heavy Earth essence it carries can rapidly heal and rejuvenate one’s entire being (especially your emotional body).

Meaning & Energy
Green Kyanite activates your entire chakra column, however it resonates deeply with one’s heart. As restorative energy is channeling from Mother Earth and imbuing your aura, one becomes more aware of their emotional needs. This can also help you develop the strength to let negativity move away from you. Our minds have a “heart of their own” and can control our entire emotional body with little to no power! This is partly due to the trust within our brain, as opposed to pledging all our confidence into a vulnerable, deep-feeling organ such as our heart. One’s mind is much easier to be manipulated and can bring about a false reality if left unchecked. Green Kyanite will push the strength that’s in your mind down to your entire body which will lead to eventual balance within yourself. This effect provides a much needed resurgence of courage and love within the body, which happens to be a recipe for ultimate success and happiness. Thais is because you are not only becoming more aware of yourself, but also how you feel day in and day out. Once you understand the potential of Green Kyanite and the powers that be, only then will the beauty within you shine endlessly for all to see.

One of the most popular traditional jewelry stones, ruby is exceptionally durable. Its colors — always red — can reach vivid levels of saturation. Fine-quality rubies are some of the most expensive gemstones, with record prices over $1,000,000 per carat. However, rubies are also subjected to more treatments than almost any other gem.

Large, gem-quality rubies can be more valuable than comparably sized diamonds and are certainly rarer. In fact, smaller blue sapphires (1-3 cts) are relatively abundant compared to small, gem-quality rubies. As a result, even small rubies have relatively high values.

The vast majority of rubies are “native cut” in their country of origin. High-value ruby rough is tightly controlled and rarely makes its way to custom cutters. Occasionally, such native stones are recut to custom proportions, albeit at a loss of weight and diameter. Custom-cut and recut stones usually have higher values per carat than native or commercial-cut stones.

Inclusions
Inclusions can also help identify the source of a ruby. See our article on identifying the origins of rubies and sapphires for more information.

Synthetics
Lab-created ruby can be manufactured by several different methods, including flame fusion, the Czochralski process, flux, and hydrothermal.

Ruby Sources
Although Asia has historically been the major producer of ruby gems, there are many other sources including the United States, Australia, and, most recently, Africa. Origin definitely affects the value of rubies.

For more information on rubies from these and other parts of the world, see our article on identifying the origins of rubies and sapphires.
